"What a great group of young men. We'd have them back in a hearbeat. They were a blessing in every way... I highly recommend them." -- Bob Grenier, pastor, Calvary Chapel Visalia, Calif.

Albuquerque, N.M.-based modern rock band IVES blends multi-part harmonies with alternate-tuning acoustic guitars, electric guitar textures, and ethereal keyboards in a style reminiscent of Leeland, Mae, Phil Wickham, and Jars of Clay. Jason Tolliver (guitar/vocals), Kyle Moore (guitars), Bryce Newman (bass), and Drew Newman (drums/background vocals) grew up as friends in the town of Auburn, Calif., fifty miles northeast of Sacramento, and together honed their songwriting and overall sound.

Though young (the band members are all between 19 and 25 years of age), their music is nuanced and mature in surprising ways; the classic harmonies of "Same Themes, Different Times," the plaintive and honest lyrics of "You Wanted Love," and the allegorical storytelling of "First Lovers' Kiss" belie the band's youth. Their debut EP, Themes, was released Summer 2007 and is a snapshot of the young band developing its own unique style and songwriting. This CD includes the driving "Wasted Time," the epic "Find," and the amazing vocal harmonies of "You Wanted Love."
