PLUMBLINE
|
PLUMBLINE began in the Fall of 1998 as a group of young men who loved the King of Creation, loved worshiping Him, and loved communicating His truth through music set out on a strange journey to evoke their brand of alternative rock and intelligent melodic groove.
It wasn't long before Plumbline received opportunities to expand its audience; the band signed a recording contract with an indie label called Degany Street Records--a subsidiary of Calvary Chapel Ministries and Crossroads Church of Denver. The release of their self-titled debut album in 2000 spawned sizeable record sales for the fledging label with no advertisements or publicity besides an insane touring schedule and word-of-mouth. The album's distributor, Pamplin, took notice and an offer for the band to sign to Pamplin Music was soon on the table. Through much consideration, Plumbline decided to forgo the offer, remove themselves from any contracts, and go it alone, seeing better opportunity, practicality, and liberty independently.
Since that time, Plumbline has self-produced and released three projects: Burn, a collection of worship songs, in 2003; Freedom to Move, an eight-track EP in 2002; and LIVE: Worship in 2001. They have sold over 30,000 albums to date and played over 700 shows across the US and internationally. Fiercely independent and reverently focused, the men of this band have taken an atypical path. Plumbline does not exist to achieve stardom. Plumbline exists to glorify the King of Kings through music. The excitement and intensity of their love for God is to be shared and experienced.
Their latest CD, the ten-song worship album Louder Than The World: Burn II, was released in the fall of 2006 and is their finest effort yet, including incredible new original songs like I Love To Hear The Words and May Your Spirit Fall Upon Us, as well as their version of the modern worship classic Grace Like Rain.
