SERANOVA
|
Southern California band SERANOVA creates music that blends soul, rock, folk, and gospel influences with eclectic instrumentation and wry, often poetic lyrics. Miranda and Tim Brinkman, the band's core, met in the Dove-award nominated band Everybodyduck, then married and continued their career together when the group dissolved. They have toured the US and overseas many times over, including several stints for Miranda as part of the Harvest Worship Team for the Harvest Crusades with Greg Laurie. Bassist and multi-instrumentalist Tyler Chester, cellist Ana Maria Maldonado, and drummer Rich Sanchez flesh out the band's sound with a rich diversity of influences and a musically adventurous edge. Born and raised in Italy in a missionary home, Miranda was educated in English and Italian and grew up singing in the church from the tender age of five. "Like a lot of artists, I got my start singing in church at a young age--five years old in my case," she recalls. "My father was the pastor of our church and I soon got used to being onstage singing hymns, gospel songs, and choruses. I loved it and never stopped loving it." Seranova will be releasing two new CDs later this year -- the first, a self-titled disc, will arrive in August and includes newly-written songs like "Goodnight My Love," "Unchanging," "There Is No Greater Love," and "I Need You" as well their versions of classic worship song "Nothing But The Blood" and "I'll Fly Away." Later in the year, the group will release Beautiful Night: Songs Of Christmas, which will include recordings of traditional Christmas songs like "Angels We Have Heard On High," "It Came Upon A Midnight Clear," and "Silent Night," plus two new songs written for the album: "He Is Immanuel" and "Beautiful Night." |
