"theHOUSE is a band that has been used by the Lord to inspire people to worship. Their music bridges the generations so that they are enjoyed by young and old alike." - Chuck Smith, Pastor, Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa, Calif. "Every time the House joins us for worship, we know that we will be lead through a time of pure and authentic praise. Whether the setting is intimate or large, acoustic or full-band, our hearts are opened and prepared to hear from the Lord." - Pancho Juarez, Pastor, Calvary Chapel Montebello, Calif. Combining a passion for leading people into the throne room of God with an atmospheric, melodic, experimental sound, theHOUSE distills the influences of artists like U2, Copeland, Phil Wickham, David Crowder, and Dashboard Confessional into a sound that resonates with the youth of today who are seeking to go deeper in worship of the King of Kings. AJ Ogden (lead vocals and guitar), Brenen Beeler (drums and percussion), Drew Enterline (lead guitar), and Jared Rich (bass, keys, vocals) formed the band when asked to lead worship for Monday night youth services at Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa, a church attended by over 7,000 people weekly in Southern California. Becoming the de facto "house band" for Monday nights led to the band simply shortening their name to theHOUSE as they began to embark on trips and tours to play outside of SoCal. "Our supreme desire is to lead people into the throne room of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior," the band's mission statement reads in part. The foundation of the band is unquestionably rooted in worship, but the band is branching out creatively in writing new material of their own, both original songs of worship and expressions of ideas that God has laid on their hearts. Their impressive self-titled debut CD was released in summer 2008 and includes compelling original tracks "Where You Are," "Filling My Heart," and "Rest In You". |
